WLA Draft details released

Every year, all the teams in the Western Lacrosse Association meet to conduct the annual Draft of Graduation Juniors. The event proves to be one of the most exciting nights throughout the summer lacrosse year as it's when we get answers to where the top junior players will begin their senior men's careers.

This year, the draft will take place this Thursday, February 7th beginning at 7pm.

The draft order is set in reverse order of last year’s regular season standings and adjusted to reflect any trading of picks that has taken place. At this time, Burnaby owns the following picks:

  • 2nd
  • 7th
  • 9th
  • 14th
  • 30th
  • 35th
  • 37th
  • 44th
  • 51st

A player is deemed eligible to be drafted if they are of the graduating junior age (born in 1997) and have played at least one game with a BCLA registered team in the past three years.

While not open to the public, the league will be broadcasting the event via webcast beginning at 6:45pm. The webcast will be hosted by Jake Elliott.
