Burnaby Laker runners scored back-to-back goals on 10 separate occasions during the 2016 Western Lacrosse Association season.

Of the 10, just seven of the doubles were scored by individual Laker players and the feats were accomplished in only seven league or playoff games.

Team scoring leader Robert Church was one of three Lakers to tally a back-to-back pair, while five-time club scoring champion Dane Stevens and fellow leftie Jason Jones also had doubles this season for Burnaby.

Stevens turned the fastest two doubles in 2016, the quickest coming in just 71 seconds apart between the first and second periods in a 9-7 loss to the Victoria Shamrocks at the Q Centre in July.

The second fastest came three days earlier at the Bill Copeland Sports Centre in a 9-7 victory over the Coquitlam Adanacs.

In that game, Stevens opened the second period with a goal at 59 seconds and then tallied one minute and 18 seconds later to give the home team a 5-4 lead.

Church garnered the third fastest back-to-back goals in Burnaby\’s 14-2 rout over Langley at home in June, tallying the double in just under three-and-a-half minutes.

Church also collected a natural pair in a 9-7 loss to Nanaimo on July 5.

Jones got his two doubles in an 8-7 loss to Coquitlam during the regular season and later in the playoffs in Game 3 of the first round series against the Shamrocks.

Other back-to-back heroes for the Burnaby Lakers this season were Scott Jones, Eli McLaughlin, Tyler Digby and 2016 first overall draft pick Josh Byrne.
