Tough road loss in Victoria
The Lakers traveled to Victoria to face the Shamrocks for the third time this season on Sunday.
In both previous games, the road time had taken the victory and the series was tied at one game each.
The Shamrocks got off to a hot start and closed out the first period with an astounding 9-1 lead over the visitors. The only Burnaby goal came from WLA leading scorer, Robert Church.
The Lakers regrouped and were able to outscore their hosts 7-3 through the remainder of the game, but the first frame deficit would remain insurmountable.
The final score was 12-8. Additional Laker scoring came from Dane Stevens with a hat trick, a second goal from Church and singles from Nick Jensen, Graydon Bradley and Brandon Clelland.
Final shots were 52-46 in the Shamrocks' favour.
Next game: our final regular season game of the year. We'll take on the Nanaimo Timbermen at home on Friday, July 26th at 7pm.
