Second road loss for the Lakers

On Thursday night, the Lakers traveled to New Westminster to face the Salmonbellies for the second time this season.

After a whirlwind game that was decided in sudden death OT on Friday, these teams were anxious to get back at it.

The Bellies got out to an early start and shut the Lakers out during the first twenty minutes, heading into the intermission with a 3-0 lead.

The Lakers woke up and got some scoring underway during the second frame. Tyler Digby led the way and Graydon Bradley, Robert Church and Brandon Clelland followed suit. By the 40 minute mark, Digby and Church has both tallied their second goals of the game and, though the Lakers still trailed, but they were showing signs of life. The score was 9-6.

The Lakers were limited to just one goal in the third period, from newcomer Dean Fairall. Unfortunately, the Bellies continues to pile on, taking the score to 15-7 before the final buzzer.

Final shots were 53-50 for New West. Eric Penney made 35 saves.
