New Laker helps Hofstra down Deleware

By Jim Sheehan Hempstead, NY – Hofstra University junior Josh Byrne, the first-round draft pick of the WLA Burnaby Lakers, recorded two goals and four assists and sophomore Brendan Kavanagh added a career-high four points on two goals and two assists to lead Hofstra to a 13-7 Colonial Athletic Association victory over the Blue Hens of Delaware at James M. Shuart Stadium Saturday afternoon.

Byrne tallied six points or more for the third time this season, following a seven-point contest against NJIT (3-4) and six in his Hofstra debut at North Carolina (4-2). 

Hofstra improved to 1-1 in the CAA and 7-4 overall this season with their sixth consecutive win over Delaware.
