Burnaby Lakers rattle the Rocks
The Burnaby Lakers scored a very important 12-10 win over the Victoria Sahmrocks at home on Friday.
First star Robert Church led all scorers with four goals in a seven-point effort as the Lakers played perhaps their most complete game of the Western Lacrosse Association season.
Burnaby took the lead for good on rookie Josh Byrne's first of two in a five-point night on the extra man late in the opening frame.
Scott Jones helped add to the Lakers' good fortune with a pair of goals in a five-goal middle period for the home side.
Key goals by Dane Stevens and Byrne in the third ensured the Lakers of their eighth victory this season.
Stevens got his second of the game off the bench on a transition push up floor by Justin Salt.Â
