Back in the win column
The Lakers met the Langley Thunder on Friday night for the third and final time this regular season.
Prior to the meeting, the Lakers has already secured the season series with one win at home and another on the road.
The Thunder came out strong, taking a 2-0 lead early on the first period, but the Lakers were able to not only answer back, but double their score, going into intermission with a 4-2 lead. Captain Dane Stevens had already secured a hat trick by the twenty minute mark. The fourth goal came from Vinny Ricci.
The second period looked similar to a lot of recent Lakers okay with the teams exchanging goals through much of it. This back and forth found them going into the second intermission with a one goal game, Lakers leading 6-5. Second period scoring came from Robert Church and Tristan Rai.
Despite an early start that was similar to the second period, the home team was eventually able to capture some momentum and secure a victory at home. In the third period, scoring came from Jared Pozzobon, two more from Church and a final goal, on an empty net, from Brandon Clelland.
Final shots were 57-43 in Burnaby's favour. Eric Penney made 35 saves.
